Watch out friends of ITIAH – ITIAH Angels for Learning (IAFL) will make its contribution to the world of elegant styles, traditional music and Caribbean culture with a one-of-a kind virtual show to close out the traditional spring/summer season. We are excited for you to see local models of Haitian descent and friends of ITIAH grace the runway adorned in the colors of the beautiful Haitian flag. Our models will wear their own clothes — outfits that they would typically wear as they sip cocktails of Rhum Barbancourt on a beach off the exotic Caribbean sea. The show is the theme of this month’s newsletter. We hope to see you on Zoom June 25 at 7 p.m.!
It has certainly been an exciting year with many IAFL activities and more in store. Keep watching out for events that are posted on Facebook, LinkedIn and in upcoming newsletters. We thank everyone who gave generously to our health fair drive to benefit the girls at École Mère Louise (EML) school. We also thank our board member, IAFL’s fundraising chair, for helping to secure a new water purifying system for EML by way of a colleague from Air Mobile Ministries, and our student volunteer Kristina Patel, who took the lead in acquiring medical supplies for EML from Project C.U.R.E.
This is our last newsletter issue for the season. ITIAH Bulletin will resume in September. We wish everyone a safe, healthy summer. Whether it has been reading our newsletter, supporting our activities, making donations, or inquiring about us, thank you so much for all you have done to keep the mission and spirit of ITIAH alive! Happy Juneteenth, Father’s Day and Fourth of July!!!
