Hi friends! We hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and got to enjoy the foods of the fall season. ITIAH Angels for Learning (IAFL) stayed busy with Giving Tuesday, which took place recently. We wanted to thank everyone who donated during this event which started November 20th and lasted through December 4th. Every donation- no matter how big or small- has made an impact as we rebound from the pandemic and its economic fallout going into 2022.
With the winter season approaching, our volunteers are planning many community activities. Upcoming virtual events will be posted on the website, published in future newsletters, and announced on Facebook and other social media platforms. It is important to stay connected with IAFL as we continue to bring events that are not only fun and enjoyable but also informative and educational for members of our community.
As we reflect on the past year, please note that our gratitude for your support is immense. The various fundraising campaigns and outreach programs we launched throughout the year secured the necessary funds needed to sponsor all 100 students at EML school at 200 dollars each for the year 2021-2022 school year. Together, we also made an impact on the clean water initiative, nutrition, and health programs for the students. You were also quick to send aid after the devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake which occurred on August 14, 2021 in the south of Haiti. Your donation provided food and clean water to those students and their families. Words cannot express how grateful we are for you!
Going towards the new year, I pray that you will continue to support us whichever way you can. Our projects are ambitious, but many hands make light work. To optimize learning, we endeavor to complete the following in 2022:
- A borehole project for clean water on the school campus
- Addition of new classrooms to reduce the overcrowded classrooms
- Purchase 30 more Sawyer water filters for students to use at home
- Send food supplements to reduce the malnutrition rate among students
- Provide tablets for homework when students cannot go to school due to insecurities
- Ship gently used keyboards to launch Piano Marvel music program
- Launch a language program (French, English, Spanish) with Rosetta stone
- Professional development program for the teachers
If you know any companies or individuals that can help us with the above projects, please don’t hesitate to reach out at info@itiahangels.org. On behalf of all our volunteers, I wish you and your family a joyous holiday season and a happy New Year! We thank you from the bottom of our grateful hearts.
Warm regards,
Marie Thadal
