Hi Friends,

Welcome to another edition of our newsletter!

Summer is quickly approaching, but our work continues for the students at Ecole Mere Louise (EML). The theme for this month’s newsletter is warmth. Warmth can have different meanings, including the warm sensation of the sun on one’s skin. But we must acknowledge that warmth also represents feelings like enthusiasm, affection, kindness, and generosity. The students of Haiti are currently living under harsh conditions. Our mission is to cover them with warmth, so they learn in school and thrive in their daily life.

There are many different avenues that we can take to help with giving warmth. The most critical one is for Itiah Angels for Learning (IAFL) to pay their annual tuition. By being in school, each student is guaranteed a warm meal at lunch. We show affection when we send them beautiful dresses and accessories to help lessen the stigma of being poor and ultimately raise their confidence. We collect toys so they can play. Playing boosts their mental wellness and gives them comfort. These are just a few examples of what we are accomplishing with your ongoing support.

We pray that you will continue to be a part of this humanitarian effort as we go forward. It is true that any extra comfort, no matter how big or small, can go a very long way. Our writers are students who put a lot of time and effort to keep you informed about the progress we are making together. Please continue to read these articles. In this edition, you will find out more information about our summer outreach activities and about our upcoming events.

Happy Father’s day! Enjoy your Juneteenth celebration and we hope you have an excellent summer!

Sincerely,

Marie Thadal
