We are thrilled to announce that The West Indian Student Organization (WISO) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is partnering with ITIAH Angels for Learning (IAFL) for a Thanksgiving School Supply Drive!
As a cultural organization dedicated to celebrating and uplifting Caribbean heritage, WISO continues to make a meaningful impact beyond campus. Through this collaboration, the students are joining IAFL’s mission to empower and support education for children in Haiti.
The school supplies collected through this initiative will be sent to EML Elementary School in Haiti to help provide essential learning tools for young girls. These resources will foster confidence, creativity, and academic growth, ensuring that these students have the materials they need to thrive in the classroom.
This partnership reflects the true spirit of Thanksgiving that is based on gratitude, giving, and global community support. Together, we’re turning compassion into action and helping to shape a brighter future for the next generation of Haitian leaders.
November reminds us to pause, reflect, and give thanks. It’s a season that invites us to look beyond our daily routines and recognize how truly blessed we are to have access to education, opportunity, and basic comforts that many around the world still long for.
Giving in November isn’t just about generosity; it’s about gratitude in action. As we gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, it’s important to remember that gratitude is most powerful when it inspires us to give back. Whether it’s donating school supplies, volunteering, or sharing resources, each act of kindness becomes a ripple of hope for someone else.
We live in a country where abundance is often taken for granted. Giving reminds us that our blessings are meant to be shared and that compassion, when multiplied, can change lives. This season, let’s extend our thankfulness beyond words and let it shine through our actions. Because when we give, we don’t just help others, we honor the spirit of gratitude that makes this month so meaningful.
Thank you, WISO, for standing with us and making a difference: one child, one classroom, one Caribbean Island, one student at a time.
