From the moment guests entered the Crowne Plaza Hotel and made their way towards the LakeTerrace Ballroom, they were immersed in an evening of rhythm, elegance, and celebration.
The night opened with the captivating voice of Miss Lola Coker @lolacokermusik, our featured jazz singer, who set the perfect tone as guests arrived. Her melodies created a welcoming atmosphere that seamlessly carried through to the Silent Auction room, adding so much warmth and charm to the experience. Just like life, jazz is multidimensional. It can evoke emotions of love, happiness, energy, sadness and hope. Lola Coker delivered on all levels.
Guests were then treated to an energetic performance by Tiffany N’ Co Academy of Dance. Tiffany Hargrett, Owner/Artistic Director & Founder whose passion for dance is said to exceed all expectations. The dancers’ talent and artistry built quite an anticipation for what awaited inside the ballroom.
The dancers’ performance prepared the way for the lively sounds of Anba Tonel, a local multicultural Caribbean band whose infectious rhythms quickly drew guests to the dance floor. True to their motto, “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain” (Bob Marley). The band delivered a performance that uplifted and united everyone in the room.
Following the scrumptious seafood dinner that was served, the evening continued with a spirited dance lesson led by Lady Steph, line dancing expert. Her engaging teaching style and enthusiasm transformed the ballroom into a dance hall, where guests of all ages participated in learning the steps to Boots On The Ground. A friendly competition added to the excitement, with winners proudly receiving t-shirts and fans as mementos of the evening.
The entertainment created an atmosphere that reflected the very spirit of A Night at the Carnaval which was planned by the volunteers of Itiah Angels for Learning volunteers to be joyful, cultural, purposeful and unforgettable.
A heartfelt thank you to Lola Coker, Tiffany Hargrett of Tiffany N’ Co Academy of Dance, Serge Paul & Sophie Lee of Anba Tonel Troubadour Caribbean Band, and last but not least, Adrianne Stephanie Christmas, AKA Lady Steph for sharing their extraordinary talents and helping make our fundraiser a true success.
Their contributions brought our mission to life and made the evening one to remember and we are grateful for their generosity.
