Traversing the winter season, our hearts are filled with joy as we share the success of a meaningful book signing event that unfolded on New Year’s Day 2024. Friends and family of Itiah Angels for Learning came together to celebrate the start of the year with a captivating book signing and fundraising event featuring Marie’s latest work, ‘Stability: The Belle of the Ball.’ The event, hosted in the heart of downtown Robbinsville at a clubhouse adjacent to Dolce Clemente Italian market, drew nearly 75 guests who arrived between the hours of 2:30 to 9 pm.
Guests reveled in the festivities, socializing, and dancing to DJ Flame’s diverse track list featuring Caribbean music, Afrobeats, and American tunes. The crowd enjoyed catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances. Attendees also brought their own ethnic dishes, with the star of the evening being soup Joumou (Squash soup), affectionately known as the Independence Soup or Soup of Liberty.
Within the pages of Marie Thadal’s recently published book, ‘Stability: The Belle of the Ball,’ a robust story of resilience is masterfully crafted. More importantly, the book serves as a stream of support for the students at ÉML Elementary School. We are thrilled to report the sale of 44 hardcover books, generating a total donation amount of $88 for IAFL. While this sum may seem modest, its impact is profound and can sustain a student’s education in Haiti for half a year. Imagine the transformative power if our efforts were echoed beyond our supporters. Whether through a matching donation, purchasing a hardcover copy of the book, or spreading the word about our charity, your thoughtfulness will magnify the ripple of positive change we can make.
Special thanks are extended to Thalia Thomas, Angela Morgan, and Jolia Thadal for serving as impeccable hostesses of the event. Utmost appreciation also goes to Kettly Desir, Keronhica Desir, Alinah Thadal, Derek Appiah Kumi and Winnie Jean-Louis for their invaluable support ensuring a successful event. As 2024 unfolds with lots of promises, we look forward to participating in more activities throughout the year. Be on the lookout for information on more book signing events and save the date for “Gala En Blanc“ scheduled for Saturday July 27th at the Crowne Plaza in Princeton, NJ. To get more involved and stay informed of our activities, you are welcomed to attend one of our Wednesday meetings and subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
