I deeply care about children getting access to quality education because I understand how transformative education can be especially in this day and age. Access to good schools, supportive teachers, and basic learning resources creates opportunities that shape a person’s entire future.
Unfortunately, not every child is born into those advantages. The idea that a child’s potential could be limited and under-discovered simply because of where they were born or their family’s income deeply resonates with me. I believe talent is universal, but opportunity is not and education is one of the most powerful ways to close that gap.
The reason I volunteer for Itiah Angels for Learning is because the mission of the organization which is fostering education for children in impoverished communities aligns with my own. Having access to ample and quality education will lead to making better and informed choices in life.
A historical figure that inspired me as a woman was Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who fought for women’s equality and financial independence. She worked to outlaw sex discrimination in lending practices such as banks, which often denied women in getting their own credit cards or loans if they were unmarried or could not provide a male co-signer well before the 70s. It is hard to imagine from 2026, but Ruth Bader Ginsburg helped make it so women could earn money, get credit, and control their own finances.
I encourage everyone to find a mission they believe in, become passionate about making a difference, and take meaningful action to create change. When purpose drives our efforts, even small steps can lead to lasting impact and help build a better future for all.
