What an incredible moment it is when a vision inspires others to support a mission! Our organization is thrilled to acknowledge the generosity of the members of the First Baptist Church of Yardley, PA led by Pastor Tahijj Counts.
After attending Gala En Blanc on July 27, 2024, member Joyce Desmond was moved by our efforts to spread positivity in the world. She was so inspired that she immediately reached out to her church leaders urging them to contribute to Itiah Angels for Learning. “It’s heartbreaking that young kids are denied access to education anywhere in the world,” Desmond exclaimed. “I want my church to support this benevolent mission. Churches are here to uplift their members and communities, and by helping these girls, we’re continuing this powerful movement.”
On the following Sunday right after service, Desmond reached out to deliver a donation from the church. It’s no surprise that the mission of the First Baptist Church of Yardley, PA is to “Empower God’s People to Change the World”. If you wish to visit the congregation, the church is located at 48 S. Canal Street in Yardley, PA.
Furthermore, Joyce Desmond along with Alana Coleman and Angela Morgan, leads the Mercer County Sisters of Sole, a chapter of the GirlTrek organization. “GirlTrek is a global movement that empowers Black women worldwide through walking, advocating for health, happiness, and community strength. With more than a million members, GirlTrek represents 7% of the total African American female population, making a significant impact”. says the organization.
The volunteers of Itiah Angels for Learning are deeply grateful to Desmond’s church family and the Mercer County Sisters of Sole leaders for their unwavering support of Black women here and abroad. Together, we are making a difference!
