For years, Team Nemesis FRC2590, a dedicated group of young innovators and changemakers in the town of Robbinsville, has been a steadfast supporter of Itiah Angels for Learning, bringing hope and education to students in Haiti through STEM. Their commitment to providing resources, fostering curiosity, and empowering students with the tools for success has been nothing short of inspiring.
A few years ago, Team Nemesis extended their generosity by sending water filters and STEM kits to schools in Haiti. Understanding the harsh realities of contaminated water and its impact on students’ health, they made it their mission to ensure access to clean water while simultaneously introducing young minds to the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). This initiative not only protected students from waterborne illnesses but also ignited a passion for STEM learning that continues to grow.
Their dedication has not wavered. Most recently, Team Nemesis FRC2590 purchased and donated a SPIKE Prime Robotics Kit, a hands-on learning tool designed to introduce students to robotics through LEGO elements, a programmable hub, and simple coding instructions. To ensure the students could fully utilize the kit, they also provided a tablet preloaded with instructions, along with printed guides to serve as a starting point.
The SPIKE Prime kit is more than just a box of components. It’s a gateway to creativity, critical thinking, and future opportunities. It includes:
- 528 elements, including bricks, motors, sensors, and a programmable hub.
- 50+ hours of standards-aligned learning experiences with classroom-ready activities.
- Technical support and teacher resources to help guide students.
- A coding app to develop programming skills.
Even as Haiti faces ongoing challenges, Itiah Angels for Learning remains steadfast in its mission. We continue preparing for the day when peace allows us to distribute these incredible resources to the schools in need. Supporters like Team Nemesis FRC2590 keep us ready for that moment, ensuring that when the time comes, Haitian students will have the tools and knowledge to shape their futures.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Team Nemesis FRC2590 for their kindness, vision, and unwavering belief in the power of education. Their generosity is not just a donation, it is an investment in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.
We are excited to share that the SPIKE Prime kit has arrived! We look forward to the day we can deliver it to the students who will benefit from it the most. Thank you, Team Nemesis FRC2590, for making a difference, one STEM kit at a time. For more information on this program, you can contact FIRST Team 2590 Nemesis at frc2590@gmail.com.
